Habitat Yards is a program of Bent Tree Lake & Wildlife, sponsored by the Habitat Conservation sub-committee.

The goal is to encourage Bent Tree residents to have natural landscaped property through education and by recognizing participants.

Natural landscapes are beneficial to the community’s environment, residents and wildlife. These areas require fewer resources, improve stormwater retention, and increase water quality and biodiversity. They provide food, water, shelter, and space for local wildlife species to thrive.

Natural landscaping encourages native plant communities and minimizes invasive vegetation. Promoting natural landscapes on common property and private property encourages community engagement and involves residents in wildlife conservation.
